Doug Arnold, Principal Technologist, Meinberg, has over 15 years experience designing precise time and frequency systems. He is currently the Co-Chair of the IEEE 1588 Working Group, the IEEE 1588 Architecture Subcommittee, and the ISPCS IEEE 1588 Plugfest Committee. Doug has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Helmut Imlau, Dipl.-Ing., Timing & Synchronization Expert, Deutsche Telekom Fixed and Mobile Engineering Deutschland (FMED) has 20 years experience in the field of transport networks along with specific synchronization and measurement issues. Since 2002 Helmut has been responsible for synchronization systems within Deutsche Telekom's fixed network. His current focus is on Deutsche Telekom's future synchronization strategy as well as phase synchronization for mobile base stations. He is active in standardization with main focus on ITU-T SG15 (Transport Networks, Systems & Equipment) on the synchronization question (Q13).
Tim Frost, BSc, MSc, MIET, C.Eng, is the Strategic Marketing Manager of Calnex Solutions Ltd. Tim joined Calnex in the summer of 2013. He has several years of experience in next-generation synchronisation techniques, having worked with both Symmetricom and Zarlink Semiconductor on packet synchronisation technologies. He has been active in the ITU Network Synchronisation question (Q13/SG15), the Small Cell Forum, where he was editor for their Synchronisation white paper, and also in the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), where he was the editor for their circuit emulation standards. He is also a member of the Technical Committee of the IEEE’s Conformity Assessment Program for IEEE 1588.
Tim has over 30 years experience in the electronics and telecommunications industry, having worked in areas such as the design of embedded CPU cores for ASIC devices, and in railway signaling systems. Tim has a BSc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Leeds, and an MSc. from the University of Manchester. He is a Member of the IET and a Chartered Engineer.
Bogdan Tenea, Principal Software Engineer, Ixia, has worked on Ixia’s 1588 and G.8265.1 emulation implementation and has developed the gPTP IEEEE 802.1AS and G8275.1 profiles implementation in the company’s leading test solution, IxNetwork.
Bogdan is now acting in a Product Specialist role covering the Automotive Ethernet market, with focus on Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol compliance and Audio Video Bridging (AVB) and is an active member of various industry dedicated committees, such as OPEN Alliance TC8, AUTOSAR WP-T and AVnu testability subgroups.
Sebastien Jobert, Editor of G.8275.1 PTP profile, co-chair of the IEEE 1588 CASC and Director of Engineering, Iometrix, leads the development and testing activities for timing and synchronization and for Cloud, SDN and NFV technologies.
He has various leadership positions in the industry: he is the co-chair of the OpenCloud Committee in the OpenCloud Connect forum, co-leader of the API certification initiative in MEF and the editor of various standards and test suites in ITU-T and IEEE.
Prior to joining Iometrix, Sébastien Jobert was a distinguished network expert with Orange.
