Request For Proposals
To Develop and Operate the Certificate Authority for the NEW IEEE Software Taggant System

The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Industry Connections Security Group (ICSG) is announcing a Request For Proposals to develop and operate the Certificate Authority for the new IEEE Software Taggant System.

By enabling the identification of specific users of binary "packer" software, and the blacklisting of misused license keys, the IEEE Software Taggant System is designed to expose creators of malware, (malicious software such as viruses, worms and spyware) and improve computer security.

The Certificate Authority (CA) will provide a crucial service, and provide a key role, in the operation of the Software Taggant System.

CA providers can visit the ICSG web page to download the ICSG's Request For Proposals (RFP).

Suppliers must notify ICSG and submit their proposals by close of business on 31 January 2012. Suppliers will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of their bids by 29 February 2012. The target is to have an operational system available by 31 March 2012.
