IEEE P2660.1™ Recommendation practices on industrial agents: integration of software agents and low level automation functions up

A Call for Participation

The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) in conjunction with the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) and the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society (SMC) invites all interested parties to notify if they wish to actively participate in the IEEE P2660.1™ Working Group (WG) to develop IEEE P2660.1 - Recommendation practices on industrial agents: integration of software agents and low level automation functions.

The IEEE P2660.1 standard will describe the recommended practices in integrating and deploying the Multi-agent Systems (MAS) technology in industrial environments, in the context of cyber-physical systems. Corresponding best practices rules, guidelines and design patterns are provided to address integrating software agents with the low-level real-time control systems, mainly IEC 61131-3 control programs running on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), IEC 61499 control applications or embedded control applications. The integration of these two layers forms a new component known as industrial agents.

The IEEE P2660.1 WG is seeking participants from the Automation industry as a whole; automation and control engineers, software engineers, system integrators, automation system vendors.

PARTICIPATION

If you would like to join the IEEE P2660.1 WG, kindly submit your name and contact information by 6 November 2015 to:
