This Working Group (P1785) is developing: “IEEE Standard for Rectangular Metallic Waveguides and Their Interfaces for Frequencies of 110 GHz and Above - Part 1: Frequency Bands and Waveguide Dimensions; Part 2: Waveguide Interfaces”. This standard will provide the relevant specifications for hollow metallic rectangular waveguide operating at frequencies of 110 GHz and above. The standard will be in two parts: (1) specifications for the waveguide (including aperture dimensions, frequency range, cut-off frequency, etc); (2) specifications for the waveguide interfaces, e.g. flanges (including engineering drawings, etc). This standard will also consider the tolerances of the waveguide aperture dimensions and the flanges, and the effect these have on the electrical properties (in terms of return loss, transmission loss, etc) of the waveguide.
