WG 2.15 - Qualification of Fiber Optic Cables
Control and communication in nuclear power plants is changing to digital transport, and fiber optic transmission is becoming an important part of this movement. Working Group IEEE/PES/NPEC/SC2/2.15, P1682, is developing a standard to qualify the cables and connections for use in safety related systems. The work will provide requirements, guidelines and suggest methodologies for demonstrating conformance to safety requirements.
