Subcommittee 5 is responsible for the development of standards that provide techniques for determining safe distances from radio frequency (RF) transmitting antennas to protect against potential hazards to the transportation, handling, or use of electric blasting caps or detonators and similar devices during explosive operations. The frequency range of interest is 3 kHz to 300 GHz.
