BOSS WG - Baseline Operating System Security Working Group
Originally suggested by NIST, this project intended to produce a Common Criteria Protection Profile for baseline security requirements of commercial off the shelf operating systems used by consumers. Abandoned for lack of agreement about how stringent or relaxed the baseline should be in order to get OSVs (operating system vendors) to adopt the standard while providing acceptable security.
