The IEEE P1363 Working Group is IEEE's center of cryptographic expertise, with a particular focus on public key algorithms. We ensure that IEEE's core cryptographic standards in the 1363 family are kept up-to-date with all research that might affect their security, and we proactively search for new techniques to standardize that have advantages in areas like usability (1363.2, password-based public key cryptography), key management (1363.3, identity-based encryption) and speed and future-proofing (1363.1, lattice based cryptography).
