P2550 - Standard for Remote Monitoring of a Neonate and the Mother Post-Partum in a Non-Clinical Healthcare Setting

The purpose of this standard is to leverage currently available telemedicine enabling technology and hand held devices such as tablets, mobiles or similar equipment based point of care devices to develop a platform for remote monitoring of a neonate, from a hospital to a lower resourced setting or a home.The standard defines the specifications for remote monitoring platform to include the performance, monitoring frequency, security, interoperability, adequacy, and validation of a platform that enables low resource / home monitoring of the neonate and the parents.
