1451.0 - Standard for a Smart Transducer Interface for Sensors, Actuators, Devices, and Systems - Common Functions, Communication Protocols, and Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS) Formats

There are several standards in the IEEE P1451 family that all share certain characteristics, but there exists no common set of transducer services and TEDS formats that facilitate interoperability among these standards. The purpose of this standard is to define a set of common transducer services and TEDS formats for IEEE 1451 smart transducers to achieve smart transducer interoperability and facilitate interoperability among the P1451 family of standards. The IEEE 1451.0-2007 is revised to address need of new technologies, such as Cyber-Physical system (CPS), and Internet of Thing (IoT) for Smart Cities and Smart Grid.
