IEEE-SA Corporate Program Grows to 131 Members

The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Corporate Program has achieved a major milestone, with an all-time high of 131 member companies. The newest members include several companies from Asia, making it the fastest growing region represented by the Corporate Program.

"We're very excited to see so many new international companies joining the Corporate Program," says Steve Mills, Chair of the IEEE-SA Corporate Advisory Group (CAG). "The Corporate Program now has 14 standards projects in active development, and the support of our members will help these technologies gain rapid acceptance in the international marketplace."

CAG Conducts Outreaches in Canada

Before the recent Corporate Advisory Group meeting in Ottawa, Canada this August, members of the CAG conducted two outreach visits with representatives from the Standards Council of Canada and Industry Canada.

The outreach visits allowed the Canadian groups to gain further knowledge of the IEEE-SA, and in return, allowed the Standards Association to expand their knowledge of these two organizations. Each outreach included discussions of IEEE’s standards activities and those of each of the other two organizations. These meetings were a positive step in continuing relations with these key Canadian standards bodies.

New Frequently Asked Questions, Presentation Cover EPP Fees

Corporate members looking for more information on the Entity Project Participation (EPP) Fee can now refer to an online Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and a downloadable PowerPoint presentation.

The EPP fee is a basic requirement for entities to become voting members of an entity-based working group. The annual per-project fee of US $3900 per company applies to all entity standards working groups with project authorization requests (PARs) approved by the IEEE-SA Standards Board.

The FAQs and the presentation cover the requirements for the EPP fee, as well as the benefits and voting rights organizations receive from becoming part of the entity process.

The presentation also details the process for paying the EPP fee, and it gives information on what happens once the fee has been received by IEEE-SA.
