5 OLD BUSINESS
6 NEW BUSINESS
6.1 Legal Update – Topp
Claire Topp informed the group that the U.S. Supreme Court had denied the FTC’s petition for Writ of Certiorari in the Rambus case.
6.2 ANSI Patent Group Update – Kulick
John Kulick reported that the ANSI Patent Group (PG) had not held any meetings since the December PatCom meeting. ANSI’s Intellectual Property Rights Policy Committee (IPRPC) did approve two documents – ANSI Guidelines on Embedded Trademark and ANSI Guidelines on Software in Standards – earlier this year. The PG may be absorbed by the IPRPC; ANSI is currently balloting this issue.
