1          CALL TO ORDER

Jon Rosdahl, Acting Chair, called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Chair Rosdahl reported that he had been requested, by Bob Grow, Chair of the Standards Board, to act as chair in Tom Prevost's absence. Introductions were made. Chair Rosdahl officially thanked Dr. Kim and Samsung for welcoming the Standards Association to Korea.

2          REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Chair Rosdahl informed the committee that, due to lack of quorum for the meeting , Item 3: Approval of Minutes from 11 June 2008 would be moved to the October tel-con. There was a motion to approve the agenda. The motion was approved.

Vote: 2 approvals, 3 abstentions, 1 disapprove (Thompson)

The Committee believed that a 2 to 1 vote was sufficient to recommend approval, but the project was presented to the SASB in a separate recommendation from the unanimously approved recommendations.

NesCom Administrator, Lisa Yacone reported that a modification to questions 1.4 and 1.5 of the PAR form erroneously took place mid-review cycle. This caused confusion during the NesCom PAR review period. The committee also expressed great dissatisfaction at the dynamic nature of the information contained in those fields. The changing information caused reviewers to see different answers depending upon the date the PARs were reviewed. These issues affect the modified PARs. This information was taken into consideration during the vote for recommendation of modified PARs.

AI: Lisa Yacone: Lisa will bring back this information to the myProject team, with suggestions from NesCom for solving these issues.

The Committee discussed comment moderation, specifically the deletion of comments by the NesCom Administrator. Lisa Yacone gave examples as to why and when she deletes comments, such as a comment made in error or a comment made on the fields of a PAR extension that can not be addressed. The comment submitter is always notified when a comment is deleted.

AI: Lisa will bring the committee's concerns back to the myProject team and look into the possibility of a function to submit comments to the other NesCom Committee members that don't get forwarded to the PAR submitter.
