[Please see the ProCom meeting minutes for further information.] 5.2 PatCom Liaison Report David Ringle, PatCom Administrator, gave an update on NesCom-relevant items from the PatCom meeting. [Please see the PatCom meeting minutes for further information.] 5.3 AudCom Liaison Report Ron Petersen, AudCom member, gave an update on NesCom-relevant items from the AudCom meeting. At AudCom, a motion was made to rescind the decision to block SCC14 and DEI. A motion was also made to approve the P&Ps for SCC41. These recommendations will be presented to the Standards Board for approval. As such, Chair Prevost will pull NesCom's recommended approval of P1783 (DEI) and P1900.5 (SCC41) from the consent agenda and ask the Standards Board to Approve these two projects. 6 OLD BUSINESS 6.1 Color Books Numbering Scheme - Rosdahl Jon Rosdahl reported that after meeting with Patricia Gerdon, the staff liaison to the Color Books Working Group, it was decided to allow the proposed numbering scheme and number reservation as requested by the working group. Numbers 3000-3015 will be reserved. 6.2 Update on Removal of 7.3 from the PAR Form - HoSang Yvette HoSang was not available to give this update. Lisa Yacone, Administrator informed the group that 7.3 has been removed from the new PAR form, which will debut in mid-April. The question of safety in proposed standards will be reviewed/addressed during the Mandatory Editorial Coordination process by the Document Development team. 7 NEW BUSINESS 7.1 NesCom 2008 Calendar Pending confirmation of the date for the first Continuous Processing Cycle, the 2008 calendar was approved. Lisa Yacone will query members by email to pick the date and establish quorum. 7.2 myProject Feedback – Sahr The following requests were made by NesCom Committee members: - Ability to perform a bulk upload of initial comments 7.3 Addition to NesCom Conventions - Comment Policy - Prevost A discussion was held regarding the need for NesCom Committee members to post their comments in a timely manner. Chair Prevost suggested the formation of an ad hoc to examine and possibly revise NesCom Convention #9. An ad hoc committee was formed and will report back to NesCom at the 11 June NesCom meeting. The ad hoc will be chaired by Ted Olsen and includes the following members: Geoff Thompson, Ron Petersen, Tom Prevost, Ken Hanus, and Lisa Yacone. 7.4 Voltage References in Standards Titles - Joe Koepfinger Joe Koepfinger addressed the committee regarding voltage references. Joe pointed out that we are an international organization, and therefore should realize that the way we refer to voltage in our standards is not necessarily how they are referenced in other countries. At this time, no decision was made to change the way voltage is currently referenced in titles. 8 NEXT MEETING The next NesCom meeting will be a Continuous Processing Tele-conference, held on Friday, 02 May 2008 at 2 p.m. ET. The dial in information will be distributed via email prior to the date. 9 ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:16 p.m. |
