Handbook Offers Guide to Shipboard Electrical Installations IEEE Standard 45™, "A Guide to Electrical Installations on Shipboard," is the most widely used resource for selecting and installing shipboard electrical and electronic systems equipment for power, propulsion, navigation, communications and other critical functions. But the standard is a living document that is often interpreted differently by different users. How can you get the most from the standard to create the safest and most effective electrical systems?
"Handbook to IEEE Standard 45: A Guide to Electrical Installations on Shipboard" by Mohammed Islam offers clear guidance for both technical and non-technical users to get the most from the standard. It contains the complete text of IEEE 45's relevant clauses, along with explanatory commentary, recommendations for intent and interpretation, historical perspectives, and an explanation of other national and international standards. The handbook also offers supporting illustrations, drawings and tables that can be found nowhere else.
Latest Homeland Security Standard Covers Cargo and Vehicle Screening
The latest IEEE/ANSI radiation detection standard for Homeland Security screening is now available. Developed in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology, the standard determines the imaging performance of x-ray and gamma-ray systems utilized to inspect loaded or empty vehicles, including personal and commercial vehicles of any type; marine and air cargo containers of any size; railroad cars; and palletized or unpalletized cargo larger than 1 meter by 1 meter in cross-section.
IEEE N42.46-2008™, "American National Standard for Determination of the Imaging Performance of X-Ray & Gamma-Ray Systems for Cargo and Vehicle Security Screening," is intended for use by first responders and local safety officials.
